On the 9th of July 2017 I flew with Scoot from Singapore to Sydney. A 9 hour flight which only cost me around $200. I had heard the rumors of cheap, budget airlines like these, so I made sure I came prepared with water, food and plenty of episodes of Friends to binge-watch on my laptop.
Ratings can be a maximum of 5 stars ★★★★★
Service: ★★★
Other than being greeted when stepping into the airplane and saying goodbye when leaving the airplane I have not experienced Scoot’s service. This is mainly because they’re a budget airline who don’t provide meals, drinks or any other service during the flight. I therefore give them the neutral 3 stars.
Food: ★★★
Meals were not included on this flight and being the cheap Dutchie I am I brought my own food. I will also therefore give them a neutral 3 stars for food.
Comfort: ★★
It’s all very basic. There is no entertainment on board, you don’t get a blanket or a pillow, and the chairs don’t have head rests unless you pay extra for it. Lucky me the chair next to me was unoccupied, so I was able to sleep for a good number of hours.
Other: ★★★★★
I was supposed to travel with Scoot April 2017 this year, but a day before I fell ill and wasn’t able to fly. Scoot was very understand of my situation and provided me with a Travel Voucher, meaning that I could book the same flight against the same fare again within 6 months. Especially coming from a budget airline this is an exceptionally good service!
Overal rating: ★★★ – If you’re looking for a cheap flight and you’re not too keen on luxury, then definitely fly with Scoot!
