Campervanning from Sydney ↔ Noosa – Part Two

PART TWO – CHRISTMAS IN QUEENSLAND

After a long 800 kilometer drive we safely arrived in Noosa. But before we could finally lay our heads to rest we first had to find out campsite…

So close yet so far…
Our navigation told us we just had a couple of kilometers of driving left, but somehow the estimated time didn’t match the estimated kilometers. At all. Soon we found out we had to take a ferry to the camping spot we booked. Luckily the ferry still ran that night and not much later we arrived at our camp spot for the night.

Merry Christmas!
All fresh and rested we woke up the next day to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year: Christmas! A few days before we splurged on Christmas outfits so we were ready to jingle all the way.

A hot Christmas in Noosa!

Armed with some drinks, sunscreen and three very good moods we drove our van into town, blasting Christmas songs from our speakers. We spent most of the day at Noosa’s Main Beach enjoying the good weather and the (non)-Christmas vibes. At the end of the day we got some Thai takeaway, took it back to our campsite and finished the day with a beautiful sunset.

Noosa, you might very well be one of my new faves!
The next day we started with exploring a bit more of this beautiful Queensland town. Noosa has a beautiful coastal walk that starts at the main beach and takes you along the most beautiful spots. Blue waters, green scenery and beautiful weather made me fall in love with this place instantly. I could see myself live here!

Does it get any more Aussie? An outdoor shower in the shape of a surfboard 🙂

SUP, Noosa?!
Later that day we went stand up paddle boarding along the Noosa River. Not only is this a fun workout and a great way to work on your tan, it’ll take you past some of Noosa’s biggest and most fancy villas, allowing you to take a little peak inside people’s home’s from up close.

We paddled around for about an hour until we made our way back to the shore. It was only a couple of months later we heard this river is actually one of the most shark infested waters of Noosa… Whoops!

The next day it was already time again to move on and leave Noosa. As Noosa was as far north as we were going to get, we started driving back down. But we weren’t ready to leave Queensland just yet, and stopped for a bit in a city I actually used to live in. More about that in a next blog! 🙂
